Stanislav Vitort

I had the privilege yesterday of being treated to a free concert, in a very intimate setting, by the tenor Stanislav Vitort. The programme consisted largely of Russian art songs, but also songs by Brahms and Tosti, and the final scene from Otello.
Not only was his singing excellent, but he also fit in wonderfully with the informal and somewhat disorganized context of the concert - he had been called in at a late moment as a substitute, and committed himself whole-heartedly, and good-humoredly.
I look forward to seeing a lot more of him.
