Those Apple-PC Ads

I have not since the Apple II owned an Apple computer. I hate the pain of all the effort getting going with drivers and all the rest of the PC architecture.
But I think Grant McCracken's analysis of the current Apple ads running now on television is spot on. Is there a computer buyer who does not already have an Apple who would buy one as a result of seeing this religious exercise?

But the question was how this ad would get any PC owner to buy an Apple. I would like to see evidence that it has any effect. I doubt it.
As for me, I like the flexibility of the PCs (which is what you trade off against everything - not all that much - just working on the Apple). If you have no particular demands on your system, obviously the Apple is right.
And, interestingly, it is clear from Apple's decision to switch to Intel processors that this is a concern of theirs.
